"Hey Jack, guess what!" was the first thing Jack heard as he walked in the door, he looked to his right to see Michael standing in the doorway to the living room.
"What?" Jack asked with a slight sigh, he wasn't in the greatest mood after receiving the news that he had failed yet another History essay.
"Mom's buying me Call of Duty Four." Michael told him, seeming excited
Jack gave him a slight nod, "Cool..." he said.
"I said maybe for your birthday, Mike." Leah told Michael as she walked down the stairs. She stopped in front of Jack and looked up at him, "Jesus, you need to stop growing... It's embarrassing having to look up at you..."
Jack shrugged, "Not really my fault. Dad had mutant sperm or something."
Leah smiled lightly and said, "I need to go into work tonight, can you watch the kids?"
Jack groaned, "Can't Nat?"
Natalie walked in from the kitchen, hugging Jack randomly and saying, "Sorry, Love, I can't..."
Leah rolled her eyes and said, "She's going out with that Kevin guy." she turned to walk into the kitchen and was followed by both Jack and Natalie.
"Come on, Mom, he's not bad." Natalie said, sitting on the counter.
"I think it's more the fact that you say you're in love after two weeks." Jack said, grabbing a can of Pepsi from the fridge.
"Well maybe I am." Natalie said, crossing her legs.
Leah shook her head and sighed, "He's a good guy, I know, I know." she said, "But really Nat, he's your fortieth boyfriend this year."
"Well he's lasted long enough." Jack said, "He passed the two day mark."
"I love you too, Jay." Natalie said, sticking her tongue out at him.
"Stop it you two." Leah told them, "Do yourself a favor and don't have children until you're thirty."
"You were like twenty when we were born, Mom." Jack pointed out.
Leah shrugged, "My point exactly."
Jack sat down at the table and said, "Geez, ouch."
"What about eighteen?" Natalie asked Leah, smiling lightly.
"Oh please." Leah said, hitting Natalie playfully on the head, "At least let me pretend that my children are still virgins."
"I'm a virgin..." Natalie said innocently.
Leah laughed, "Oh yeah, Dear, not since you were fourteen."
"Spot on, Mom." Natalie said, standing up.
Jack sighed, "See, Mom, she's not even surprised you know about that..."
"I'm not." Natalie said, "But as a comfort, Mummy, I'm pretty sure Mike and Mand haven't had sex yet."
"Don't make me think about it." Leah told her, sitting next to Jack at the table.
Jack patted her on the shoulder, "Hey, on the bright side, we're almost out of the house."
"Yeah, considering you ever graduate." Natalie said, walking over and flicking Jack in the head,"Get a haircut, Silly."
"I will..." Jack said, "Eventually..."
Leah smiled at him, "Schedule it soon, it's almost longer than mine."
"I thought you had to go, Mom." Natalie said.
"I thought you did too." Leah said back.
"I'm getting picked up in five." Natalie shrugged.
"I feel like a loser." Jack muttered.
Leah stood up, kissing him on the top of the head and stepping back as he tried shoving her away, "Yeah, I gotta go. I'll see you guys tonight. Natalie, do not stay out too late."
"Mom!" Natalie snapped, "It's Friday! I don't have a curfew."
Leah sighed, "You're grounded, Nat, you shouldn't be going out anyway."
"Whatever." Natalie said, slipping on her flip flops and walking out the door.
Leah rolled her eyes, "There's money for pizza on the counter." she told Jack, "Have Amanda in bed by nine. Chris might sleep over... Feel free to invite a friend over or something, just don't party."
"Yeah, okay Mom." Jack said.
Leah nodded and walked out the door.
Michael walked into the room, "Jack, I'll play you." he said with a smirk.
Jack stepped outside of his house, holding the football and running onto the grass. He turned around and immediately was tackled by Michael. He grunted and pushed the nine-year old off of him, standing up and brushing himself off. He grabbed the football back easily and threw it into the street saying, "Fetch douchebag"
Michael rolled his eyes but ran after it.
